The camp can house up to 160 children and welcomes those who are visually impaired, hearing impaired, cancer patients and those with juvenile diabetes. They aspire to provide a premier outdoor recreational/educational facility providing opportunities for people with special needs to enhance self-worth, attain independence, acquire social skills and realize their full potential as human beings.

Eversight Michigan was organized in 1957 as a joint project of the Ann Arbor Host Lions Club and the University of Michigan Medical Center. After many years of support by a group of dedicated Lion Clubs, the Eye-Bank as it was known, was accepted as a State Project of the Michigan Lions in support of it work and re-energized its mission to preserve and restore sight.
Madonna University's Office of Disability Resources (O.D.R.) has assisted more than one thousand students with disabilities since its inception in 1976. The O.D.R. employs four full-time employees who work as team to create the best possible learning environment for students with disabilities. They are sensitive to the needs of individual students and are also fluent in American Sign Language.
Beaumont's Center for Childhood Speech and Language Disorders was established in 1972 to help children with speech and language disorders learn to communicate. They provide a variety of specialty care programs for children with speech and language disorders.
The primary objective of this Lions program is to reduce the number of new cases of blindness caused by diabetic retinopathy through diabetes education, early detection and treatment, and support of research. Lions are especially encouraged to conduct awareness activities during the month of November--Lions Diabetes Education Month. .
A high school band was selected to represent the Lions of Michigan in the annual parade at their international convention from 1948 to 1977. In 1978, an all-state band was organized to honor and play for an incoming Lions International President from Michigan. The Lions All State Band was created and has appeared annually at conventions thereafter.
Used eyeglasses are collected by Lions and recycled at ten Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers throughout the world. The used eyeglasses are cleaned, repaired and classified by prescription. The eyeglasses are then distributed to those in need by Lion volunteers and other organizations with optical missions in developing countries.

The Lion Races are held annually in April. Twenty-four local business purchased lions to be decorated and raced with a night of fun.
The White Cane Street Collections are held annually in May to raise awareness and funds to support vision related projects.
The four-day long Jubilee and Friday and Saturday night beer tent with live entertainment are held in the Village of Lake Orion annually in June.
Flare sales are conducted for Flare Night, a 79 year tradition of lighting up the shoreline of Lake Orion. It was started by the Rotarians to celebrate the end of WWII. The Lake Orion Lions Club has sponsored the tradition for decades as the club's mission of "prevention of blindness".
This a new event in 2024 being held in Canterbury Village in September.
The Goodfellow Newspaper Sales are held annually in November to raise money for charity programs
The Christmas for Everyone Dinner and Auction are held in November to raise money for the Christmas Basket program.
The Lake Orion Lions Club began charity poker in 2023 at One Eyed Jacks Restaurant in Shelby Township.
Lion Mints and many other fundraisers during the year.
